After more than a decade of one-bag travel and four years spent working remotely around the world, I've learned that the best gear isn't necessarily the gear with the most features: The best bag I ever owned is one I stopped noticing. You just walk out the door.

A decade in design and visual communication means I've learned to read past the marketing. I look at how something sits in your hand after six months, not how it photographs on launch day. The reviews and field reports published here are based on real trips, months of use, and the honest reckoning that comes when the novelty wears off.
